Sleep

Getting a good night's rest is just as important to children as it is to adults. If possible always put baby down for the night or for a nap when he is still awake as this teaches him how to drift off to sleep unaided. However often this isn’t achievable as many babies get too upset when they are left alone or even when they’re put down. If you do need to hold, rock or sing your baby to sleep at the beginning this doesn’t mean he will always need this involvement from you. Babies need comforting and leaving them to cry it out, has now been found to be harmful to babies’ brains and can affect their future stress-coping skills. There are far better and kinder ways to get babies and children to sleep without leaving them to fend for themselves and ignoring their attempts to communicate their wishes.

I do say that if parents decide to aid their babies to sleep at the beginning make the decision and don’t feel bad about it! However do try to wean him off it as soon after 6 months (and taking solids) as possible. I have methods to suit parents who wish to respect their babies and children and don’t want to let them cry and potentially harm their child. Just take a look at the books page and you will find the “How to solve your child’s sleep problem… kindly!” ebook which can also be ordered as a paperback version.

For older children who are having trouble sleeping I have methods to suit them too! Once a child learns how to fall asleep by himself you will have many more undisturbed nights. This is not only good for you, but also great for your child. A child that sleeps well is happy and content and learns and develops more easily than a tired and exhausted one. You will also find that there are less tantrums and arguments from a well-rested child!

Sleep is so important because it's the time when children grow; it's when growth hormones are released. Older children who don't get enough sleep are more prone to depression and don't get on as well at school. Their studies suffer as they can't concentrate and are too tired to focus on their work. So don’t wait, buy the ebook today!
